Debuting in 1998 in Denver, CO, The Great Indoors is a breakthrough retail concept for interior decorating and home remodeling. By consolidating everything that’s needed for the home’s interior – floor to ceiling, wall to wall – The Great Indoors is a comprehensive resource for any decorating or kitchen and bath remodeling project. The Great Indoors has everything you need for home decorating and remodeling projects—all under one roof.

Organized around the four main rooms in the home– kitchen, bath, bedroom and great room – The Great Indoors features lifestyle vignettes that offer inspiration, ideas and options to homeowners at a variety of price points.

The Shopping Experience

The Great Indoors is designed to embody the “ideal” shopping experience, as defined by its target female customers. Extensive research with The Great Indoors target customers revealed the agonies and ecstasies she associates with decorating and remodeling her home. These insights helped shape the store, define merchandise, determine staffing levels and expertise, and guide services and installation policies.

The Great Indoors offers customers a wealth of resources to help them pull their decorating and remodeling projects together. In stores, customers can browse through decorating books and magazines, or take advantage of in-store seminars and classes on home decorating projects.

A project and design center provides one-on-one consultation and will work with customers looking to customize their rooms. Our experienced staff will coordinate the project's design, logistics, delivery, and installation from start to finish.

There are currently 12 stores that are approximately 143,000 square feet. Each store showcases more than 30,000 products, plus thousands of special order items, and employs knowledgeable associates dedicated to providing personal service.
